In 2007 Dan and I retired from work, hitched our 5th wheel to our truck, and hit the road. We are full time RV'ers so we take our home with us everywhere we go. We live by the credo "Home Is Where You Park It" and we have found Home in many an awesome setting! I created this blog to track our adventures as we travel around the US, Canada, and Mexico. Two of our goals include visiting all the State Capitals and as many of the Baseball Parks as possible, with everything else we can fit in between!

Farmer's Market & Downtown Des Moines
We spent three full days in Des Moines , and the
weekend we were there was the opening day of the Downtown Farmer's Market,
which runs every Saturday, May through October. May 3rd happened to be a most
gorgeous weather day, highs in the low 70's, puffy clouds, and light breezes,
so it seems that everyone in the city agreed with us, and thought it would be
fun to come out! The market connects urban and rural communities while
supporting 300 family farmers, bakers, artists, and crafters from around the
state. Spanning nine city blocks, it is held in the Historic
Court District ,
flanked by the Des Moines River on one side,
and the looming buildings of the Capitol and courts on the other. Musicians of
various styles set up on every other corner and entertain for fun and tips. We had
a wonderful time taking in the sights, smells, and sounds of this fun event.
