PNC Park (Pittsburg, Pennsylvania)

Since we were in the Pittsburg area during baseball season, we wanted to get tickets to a Pirates game at PNC Park. It just so happened the Pirates were playing against the Boston Red Sox that particular week, and the game we wanted to attend was pretty much sold out by the time we got around to buying tickets.  As it turned out, we ended up with bleacher seats, not a bad thing really, as we like to wander around, explore the park, take pictures, and get an overall feel for the surroundings. PNC Park, which opened in spring 2001, is an intimate, classic-style ballpark that embraces the progressiveness of Pittsburgh while saluting the spirit of early ballpark originals. Its prime location along the shore of the Allegheny River takes advantage of scenic vistas of the downtown skyline and riverfront, creating an exciting and dramatic urban sports venue. Even though the home team lost the game we attended (Pirates 2, Sox 4), we still had a great time and were glad of the chance to visit another ball park.
